RoamFreeGet eSIM

Made in Manchester

A travel eSIM company that lives where its customers do.

Most travel eSIMs are sold by companies registered in Estonia, Singapore, or Delaware. We're a UK limited company in Manchester. That matters more than it sounds — and we'll explain why on this page.

Why RoamFree exists

In May 2026 we did the maths on what UK travellers actually pay for data abroad. A 10 GB / 30-day plan for Spain from the largest travel eSIM resellers costs around £14.00 at headline. Then your bank adds 2.75–2.99% for the FX conversion. Then if you need a VAT receipt for work, you find out the seller is in Estonia or Hong Kong and can't issue one. Then if something breaks at 9pm your time, you discover support is on a different continent.

We thought we could do better on most of that without doing anything clever. Just by being a UK company, pricing in GBP, and answering emails during UK hours.

So that's what RoamFree is. We're not trying to be the cheapest eSIM company in the world. On a handful of routes we genuinely are — and we'll show you below. On others, the wholesale economics mean we're within a pound or two of the cheapest competitor. The trade-off is: you buy from a UK Ltd company that's findable, accountable, and actually based here.

The price comparison we're proudest of

10 GB in Spain for 30 days. RoamFree vs the big names.

Spain is the UK's number-one outbound destination — over 18 million trips a year. Here's what the same plan costs at the major travel eSIM resellers, as of May 2026:

ProviderPrice (10 GB / 30 days)
RoamFreeUK Ltd · GBP£8.99
Saily£14.00
Nomad£15.00
Major eSIM apps~£17 (often in USD; FX fees may apply)

The same pattern holds for France, Italy, Greece, and Portugal — all priced from £8.99 at 10 GB for 30 days. The UK and Turkey are even cheaper. We didn't build these prices by undercutting; the formula our system runs on produces them naturally because European wholesale is genuinely competitive. We just don't mark them up further to chase a margin percentage.

What being a UK company actually gets you

Beyond price, the things below are structural — they come from where we're registered and how we're set up. None of them can be bolted on by an offshore reseller without restructuring their whole company.

Priced in pounds, charged in pounds

Every price you see is what your bank will charge you. No 2.75–2.99% foreign transaction fee on top, no exchange-rate surprises on your statement, no dynamic-currency-conversion games at checkout.

Real human support during UK hours

When something goes wrong on a Tuesday evening in Lisbon, you want a reply from a human in Manchester within a couple of hours — not a 12-hour wait for a support agent in another time zone.

UK consumer law and proper receipts

Your purchase is covered by UK Consumer Rights Act and the Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013 — disputes go to the small claims court, not international arbitration. VAT-ready receipts coming once we register; suitable for HMRC expense claims.

Who's behind RoamFree

RoamFree is operated by AENEA Global Ltd, a company registered in England and Wales (Company No. 16743851), based at 186 Moorside Road, Swinton, Manchester, M27 9LE.

AENEA is an AI and data-intelligence company. Most of what we do day-to-day is unrelated to eSIMs — we build financial research tools, multilingual NLP infrastructure, and AI laboratory work. RoamFree exists because we kept getting overcharged for travel data on work trips and decided to build the alternative we wanted to use.

We're a small team. You'll often be emailing the founder directly. That's a feature, not a bug.

What we won't pretend to be

A trust signal in itself.

We're honest about the things we're not, because everyone selling something likes to claim they're the best at everything. We're not.

  • UK customers only for now. We're a UK Ltd company launching to UK customers first while we sort out EU VAT registration (Non-Union OSS via Ireland — bureaucracy moves slower than we do). If you're outside the UK, drop us a line at [email protected] and we'll email when we open in your country.
  • We're not always the cheapest, especially in Asia. Our wholesale costs for routes like Thailand, Indonesia, and regional Asia bundles are structurally higher than some of the larger players can offer. If price is the only thing that matters to you for those specific destinations, they may be a better fit. We'll tell you straight.
  • We don't have the largest destination catalogue. The big-name eSIM apps have been at this for years; their coverage is deeper. Ours covers the destinations that matter for most UK travellers, but if you're going somewhere obscure, check the destination page first.
  • We don't have a flashy app. A website that works well on your phone is enough for what an eSIM purchase actually involves. We might build a native app one day; we won't make you download one to use the service.
  • We're new. AENEA Global Ltd was formed in 2025; RoamFree launched in 2026. We don't have a decade of customer reviews. What we do have is a registered UK company you can look up on Companies House and a founder who replies to support emails.
